Missoula is home to the University of Montana, where about 15,000 students study humanities, sciences, forestry, law and the arts. The Clark Fork runs through Missoula, while the Blackfoot and Bitterroot Rivers surround the Missoula Valley. Skiing, floating, fishing, hiking and biking are moments away. The historic downtown features cafes, shops and restaurants, along with three seasonal farmers’ markets and music festivals nearly every weekend of the warm-weather months. The refurbished Wilma Theater plays host to live music and theater and a few blocks away the internationally known Missoula Children’s Theater features shows and training for performers of all ages.
